New Nashville Wedding Venue Open House – Epic 9

Emerson Drive Sings at Wedding at Nashville’s Graham Central Station

On Sunday there was a wedding on the roof top of Graham Central Station located on First Avenue. As a surprize to the bride, the Canadian country music band Emerson Drive was there to sing their favorite couple song. The groom who works in the music business was able to make the arrangements and keep it secret up until the Sand Ceremony when the group performed. They were actually hid behind the attendants so that the bride could not see them. Read the rest of this entry »

Guest post

A wedding at Scarritt Bennett in Nashville Tennessee is the exact requirement of a Nashville wedding site that you have in mind. Weddings are special events of your lives that should be perfect. All women have a dreamy concept about the most important day in their lives. It is the only day when they will occupy the center stage and look the most beautiful against the backdrop of the exotic wedding venue with everything just in place for the bride and the groom to step in.

Nashville being the capital of the city of Tennessee is also the county of Davidson. The topography of the land is marked by rivers, plateaus, hills, plains and wonderful churches. Downtown Venues

Downtown Nashville Wedding Venues

Besides some of the downtown Nashville hotels discussed on this website, there are some other places you might not think of or know about.

One location where we have been several times is known as the Aerial. It is a roof-top wedding site along Broadway in the heart of things. There is a nice view of the Ryman,  the “Batman” building and the busy action down below on Broad.

Speaking of the Ryman Auditorium, it also has been selected as a downtown wedding location. There is something special about standing on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry and thinking about all the famous country music stars who have performed in that spot. Renting the Ryman is not inexpensive…after all they could be having a concert on your day. But it is certainly a unique wedding site that many of your friends would ever be able to match.

The Country Music Hall of Fame is yet another locale for the musically inclined…or not. You really don’t have to be a music fan to love this place. Weddings take place in either the Hall of Fame Rotunda or the Ford Theater. Receptions can be held in the Court Conservatory or the Courtyard.

The Nashville City Club on the top floor of the Suntrust Bank building on 4th Ave. also provides a nice city view for weddings with a very upscale ambience.

What about a wedding on bridge? Not for everybody for sure, but some have wed on the Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge. We understand that you can reserve the whole bridge so that they keep any pedestrians from passing by as your ceremony takes place. There are others we are familiar with who save a little bit of money by not going that far and just do the ceremony without shutting it down.

At the base of the bridge is the world famous Schermerhorn Symphony Center. We were part of a wedding ceremony here that took place in the lobby (no ordinary lobby!) and the reception was held in the main music hall. Schermerhorn is one of the finest music halls in the world.

Some other locations you might want to check out are these: The Cannery Ballroom which is located off 8th Avenue. One Eleven is a forty-eight hundred square foot event center with an observation deck with great views of the city.

Another option especially if you are having a small, simple ceremony is to check with one of your favorite restaurants in downtown Nashville. Some restaurants have a nice, at least semi-private area where you could do your ceremony. The fee to use the space may be very reasonable since you will likely be feeding your guests at that restaurant.

About Scheduling Your Wedding Downtown

If you decide to plan a downtown wedding, you will want to look carefully at scheduling. If there are several major events taking place on your weekend, you’ll want to check with the wedding venue to see what parking arrangements are made if that is the case. Some will have their parking areas and other will not. Those that don’t will be able to make suggestions. They have done this before!
