Nashville Park Weddings
You don’t have to be looking for cheap Nashville wedding venues to make this choice however. Some people love the outdoors and the beauty of parks as a site for their ceremony. One advantage of having a park wedding or a wedding at any outdoor place is that decorations are usually not necessary.
The weather is one issue to keep in mind though. If it rains, do you have a backup plan? Some of the parks will have shelter of some kind, but you need to be sure you have somewhere to go in case the weather is so bad you can’t have the wedding outdoors.
Another topic here is the reception location. Again, some parks will have a place you can use, either outside or inside. But you are not limited to what the park has to offer. You can have the ceremony there and go elsewhere to feed your guests.
Here’s our list of parks where weddings are known to be held:
Centennial Park
This is an urban park across the street from Vanderbilt University. Most weddings are held here at the Sunken Garden. There is small bridge there where some couples stand as well as several wedding spots surrounded with beautiful flowers. Occasionally, there is Parthenon wedding. The Parthenon is a replica of the one in Athens. Weddings are held both inside the structure and outside on the patio or steps areas.
Two Rivers Mansion
This park is actually a mansion. There is some interesting history to this structure with the Harding family. It sits back off of McGavock Pike in the Opryland – Donelson area. It is convenient to the airport, hotels and generally getting around Nashville. Usually weddings here take place on the front steps of the mansion. Receptions are held inside and / or out to the side and back. Two Rivers Mansion also hosts indoor ceremonies though there is some limitation in how many people can comfortably fit.
Edwin Warner Park and Percy Warner Park
These two parks which lie side by side compose the largest park within the state of Tennessee. At the end of Belle Meade Blvd. is the Alle entrance to the park. When you drive through the arches you see before you a long sloping hill with stone steps going all the way up. You can also drive around to the top side of the hill from which you have quite a few over the Belle Meade area. We have done a number of weddings at different spots at this location. Cheekwood Botanical Gardens are also located very near here.
This park is mentioned on the Nashville Wedding Chapels page. There is a beautiful old stone chapel that sits in a fairly remote area of the park.
Shelby Park
If you are looking for an east Nashville wedding venue and you want to be outside, take a drive sometime out to Shelby Park and see if there is a spot that would work for you.
Cool Springs House at Crockett Park
We have been impressed with the Cool Springs House operated by the city of Brentwood. The fees are very reasonable. For example, the last time we checked, rental fees for Brentwood residents from 5 pm until midnight on a Saturday was $275. For non recipients it is $350. The website has a lot of pictures inside and out of the facility giving you a good idea of whether it is right for you without having to drive out there. But if you do decide to go out, it is only about seven to eight minutes off Interstate 65.
